DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:

Through her sculpture “La Memoria” (Memory), the artist alludes to the importance of preserving memory and preventing it from falling into oblivion.

Her work breathes new life into a branch she found in the summer of 2022, when the reservoir’s water level dropped, allowing her to see her village, an island of land.

The artist’s village, Miralpeix, did not suffer the same fate as Tiurana in terms of the transfer of monuments to the new village, located at the foot of our patron saint, the Virgin of Solés.

The villages submerged in water are given new meaning through a brick, which symbolizes the courage of homes that fought to the last breath, resisting the fury of a reservoir that did not allow them to decide their fate and that also wanted to maintain its thirst for power.

The length of the trunk refers to the voice of the families who refuse to lose their identity. For its part, the glass tube symbolizes the stagnant water of the reservoir.
