The art that is reborn from water and memory
THE ORIGINS of a smiling girl
Núria was born on March 2, 1981, in Miralpeix, a small village of fourteen houses and a romanesque chapel in the heart of Lleida.
Daughter of famers and ranchers, her childhood unfolds amidt the murmur of the Segre River, polished rocks by the water, and clay games turned into colorful cakes.
“I would open the window and listen to the following river without knowing that even then, art flower within me.”
Among scraps of dresses sewn by her mother and reed huts, her imagination began to construct a universe of her own, even without realizing it.
A GOODBYE WITHOUT RETURN - En 1999, the mourning submerged in the waters
At 13, Núria saw her home disapper beneath the waters of the Rialp reservoir.
Its town, along with Tiurana, la Clua, Basella, Castellnou de Basella y Aguilar, is swallowed up by the forced silence of hydraulic progress.
“The reservoir didn’t just drown houses. It took away an identity, a memory, a root.”
That was the first significant break.
And also the beginning of a disconnection from her authenticity.
For yeas, she walked through life without her home, without her land, without herself.
FROM GRIEF TO SEED: Reluet is born in 2009, the first conscious artistic gesture
The loss of her paternal grandfather, Josep, awakens in Núria the need to create from the wound.
To do this, she takes an old door from her home, her father Josep Maria, cuts it into three parts, covers it with plaster, and transforms the pain into beauty.
Thus, her artistic pseudonym is born: Reluet – the name of her house spelled backward..
“Imagination allows us to see what we normally don’t see. That was my entry into art.”
Since then, her artistic process is based on inanimate objects rescued from her childhood: doors, windows, chairs, bricks.
Each piece becomes a witness to an emotional and spiritual reconstruction.
REINVETION: art as a bridge between identity an authenticity
In Castellserà, Lleida, she creates her first workshop and gallery.
Through each work, she reconstructs not only her life but also her identity lost in the waters.
