Sometimes life submerges us without warning. But, as I recently shared at the presentation of my book in Agramunt, the key is not to resist the current, but to learn to flow. Today I want to share with you the beautiful words that the media, such as Urgell TV, have dedicated to our meeting at L’Era de Torrons Vicens, an event that was much more than a presentation: it was a River Ritual.
A slow-cooked work
This book, Reluet: The Color of Resilience, is a work of experimentation “simmered, like our grandmothers did.” It was born from my own process of loss and reconstruction after seeing how my ancestral home, Cal Teuler, disappeared under the waters of the Rialb reservoir.
I learned that, even if my town was submerged, matter has memory. I understood that pain, like mud, can be transformed into a masterpiece if we allow art to be our guide.
We are not swamps, we are unique rivers
I speak to you, my rivers, because in this robotic world of immediacy that sometimes does not allow us to think, it is more necessary than ever to remember our essence: “We were born rivers and we will die being rivers; we are singular rivers, not swamps.”
Through the pages of this book, I invite you to become “divers” of your own answers. To descend towards your origin without fear, discovering that fear is not the enemy, but a sign that we are alive and moving.

Memory vehicles
At the event, surrounded by the love of so many friends and the support of Meritxell Bernaus and the music of Joan Carbonell, we remembered that everyday objects are vehicles of memory. In my work I use elements that my family rescued from Miralpeix—doors, windows, bricks—because in them lies an answer that helps us transform adversity into art.
