On May 24, 2024, I had the pleasure of participating with M. Victoria Serna, artist and curator of the Imaginarte Gallery, in the collective exhibition of international contemporary art “Delios de la Imaginación” in tribute to Salvador Dalí held in her Gallery of Barcelona. A joint exhibition with other fellow artists until June 25, 2024.
This exhibition sought to explore how Dalí’s surrealist vision has inspired and left its mark on the work of other contemporary creators.
“Tears do not drown us, they are the abundance of existence”
Salvador Dalí is the great genius of surrealism. He was born on May 11, 1904 in Figueres, Girona, becoming one of the most international Spanish painters in history, a master of the surrealist style and an icon of contemporary painting thanks to a very personal and extravagant style.
What parallels does Reluet have with Salvador Dalí?
- Being a creator of a very personal style.
- Objective to attract public attention.
Dalí manifested a notable tendency towards narcissisim and megalomania.
Núria express a vindication of the capricious world in which we live that does not want us to wake up.
- Attribute love.
Dalí attributed his love “for everything that is golden and excessive, his passion for luxury and his love for oriental fashion.”
Núria attributes her love “for hidden beauty to rediscovering everything that surrounds us.”
- Major loss. A goodbye without return.
Dalí lost his older brother, also called Salvador, to an infectious gastroenteritis cold.
This marked the artist greatly later, who had a personality crisis, believing that he was the copy of his dead brother.
Núria lost her home to a swamp when she was thirteen years old.
Like Salvador Dalí, this episode marked me by believing that I had lost my identity in a swamp when I woke up and understood that they had only taken over the bricks but not my raised voice under my pseudonym Reluet, the reverse of the name of my beloved home. Teuler in Miralpeix.
