On June 11th, I had the great honor of participating in the informative talk organized by the Limfelleida association at the Balàfia Civic Center in Lleida. It was an emotional afternoon, full of learning, mutual support, and above all, generating visibility for a reality that affects so many of us women: lipedema.
During the gathering, I opened my heart to share my personal experiences living with this pathology. For me, art, health, and life walk hand in hand. Because of this, I wanted to give the attendees a very special manifesto born from the Reluet philosophy.
Today, I want to share with all of you that message I handed out in Lleida, with the hope that it inspires you to transform pain into strength.
THE UNIVERSAL CODE OF RIVERS
Reluet, ACTIVE RESILIENCE
- Trade your Snorkel mask for a Diving suit.
Allowing professionals to save you means staying on the surface. Put on your wetsuit, dive deep into the depths of your own history, and clear away the mud. - Govern time to halt Inflammation.
The “I don’t have time to stop” mindset and deep, unexpressed emotions destroy your biology. - Remember that you were born a River and will die a River.
A river is free, imperfect, adapts to the rocks along the path, and flows in only one direction: forward. Find your peace and coexist with the pathology by flowing.
Nurturing emotional health alongside medicine
As I always advocate within the Reluet movement, we are not stagnant swamps. This philosophy takes on a vital meaning when we face a chronic illness like lipedema. It reminds us of the crucial importance of taking care of our emotional health, learning to flow with circumstances without allowing a diagnosis to paralyze us.
Although there are no magical solutions, medicine, specialized physical therapy, and science are our greatest allies.
My gratitude to the Limfelleida association
I want to express my most sincere gratitude to the entire team at the Limfelleida association for inviting me, giving me a voice, and for the tireless work they do every single day. Raising visibility for lipedema means informing, accompanying, and creating a strong network so that no woman ever feels alone on this journey.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who joined us and filled the room. Your warmth proves to us that when we share our pain, the river of life continues to flow stronger than ever.
on this flowing path.
