Me, Núria Companys, artist, founder of Reluet, daughter of farmers and also a farmer, know that we cannot let the frenetic pace of the world take us away from our roots.

In an era of robotization and dehumanization, we must remember that farmers offer us something invaluable: the richness of the land and the food it sustains.

This potato planting machine is a symbol of resistance. My family refused to leave it under the waters of the swamp, because it represents our history. As a child, planting potatoes was a game shared with my sister: in each hole we put a potato eye, hoping to see life grow… and then enjoy the fries that mom prepared for us.

Today, this machine accompanies me in my artistic workshop in Lleida, reminding me that life is a cycle. That every effort, every seed planted, deserves to be cared for and nourished to bear fruit.

Let’s honor our roots. Let us value those who cultivate our future.
