My recent visit to the La Noguera Regional Archive has led us to reflect on the importance of historical memory, especially in the case of small towns like Miralpeix, which in 1999 fell under the waters of the Rialp Reservoir. The most worrying aspects that we have confirmed is the perception that, because Miralpeix is small, it does not deserve to be the subject of a video of historical memory only of itself as they did with other towns.
This discrimination is unacceptable; Every town, regardless of its population, has a story worth sharing.
The memory of a town is not just a set of data or images, but the essence of its traditions, family laws and memories that are kind to its inhabitants.
Even in the diversity of our towns there is a richness that unites us, and it is essential that archives—especially regional archives—act as guardians of everyone’s memory.
The wealth of a country is the culture
