My colleagues agreed to shape the proposal I presented.
My participation in this project goes beyond Núria Companys Castro being the main actress and founding co-writer of the resilient art movement Reluet. I am simply Núria, a creative force who brings a deep personal and emotional connection to the narrative of the short film.
A Personal Connection to History
I bring to life the central character, a woman who, trapped between the past and the present, searches for meaning in the waters that were once her home. This story resonates deeply with those who reside in an area marked by the traces of their own family and cultural history. In my case, my home, “Cal Teuler,” located in a town that was submerged by the waters of a swamp in 1999, giving me an intimate perspective on the uprooting and loss that the short film addresses.
This personal experience not only motivated me to perform, but also infuses my performance with a unique authenticity and sensitivity. I understand the pain of dispossession and nostalgia for a home that no longer exists, and that understanding is reflected in each scene, turning the performance into an act of catharsis and celebration.
Commitment to Collective Memory
As co-writer, I play a fundamental role in constructing the narrative of the short film. My commitment along with that of the team is clear: we not only seek to tell an individual story, but also to rescue the shared memories of communities that have been affected by other people’s decisions. Through my participation, I become the voice of those who have been silenced, seeking to dignify their experiences and remind the public of the importance of collective memory.
I firmly believe that art, and especially cinema, has the power to transform and educate. With our work on “Memoria sota l’Aigua,” we not only create a visual representation of rootlessness, but we also invite reflection on the broader implications of contemporary history: how the decisions of a few can affect the lives of many.
Driving the Resilient Art Movement
My participation in this project is also part of my work in Reluet, a movement that arises from my history and my environment. By exploring themes of identity, loss and resilience.
My comprehensive artistic approach allows “Memoria sota l’Aigua” to be not just a cinematographic product, but a vehicle of change and dialogue that resonates in the hearts of those who see it.
For me, “Memoria sota l’Aigua” represents a unique opportunity to raise voices that have been submerged under the waters of oblivion.

The canvas is me. Today, the great adventure is being the canvas of my own life. A few years ago, if I had considered the role of lead actress, I would have hesitated. But today, I laugh at those doubts, as the title of one of my illustrations says. Because when authenticity moves you, there is no turning back.
I can only tell you this: “The day your mind clicks is when you say to yourself: “If I had done it sooner…” But the time to do it was not before, it is NOW.
Don’t fool yourself. Move forward, laughing at doubts with determination and without haste.
If you don’t try, don’t cry. Because you will never know if you are capable until you try.
I gave myself a chance and trusted myself.
