This Friday, February 2, the feature story that Beatriz Vivar—director, host, and producer of the program *Viatgers en l’Art*—did on me was released. A great river that I admire both professionally and, even more so, personally. An online arts and culture radio program broadcast by a radio station in Buenos Aires in collaboration with the Barcelona Art Experience (organizer of the MEAN art workshops) and PIXEN (European Museum of Modern Art).
As Jaume Plensa said:
“What’s interesting isn’t the artist—it’s the person. To create good art, you have to grow as a person; art is a consequence of that. It’s not about painting life—it’s about bringing the painting to life.”
I’m sharing the full report with you at this link:https://viajerosenelarte.com/reluet-nuria-companys-castro/
And here’s a link where, at the 55:08 mark, they welcome me on the live show as a club member: “welcome”
Reluet, an artist with a profound gaze and a resilient heart.
Núria Companys Castro
A multidisciplinary artist with a profound vision and a resilient spirit, she is the founder of the Resilient Art movement Reluet, which she launched in Miralpeix in 1981.
In the whirlwind of life, in 1999, Núria lost touch with her own identity without even realizing it—a farewell with no return that led her to anchor herself in the image of her childhood, a thirteen-year-old girl whose image became trapped in the image of her home, cradled beneath a layer of opaque water—the reservoir.
It was in 2009 that she decided to reconnect with her true self, and that’s when Reluet was born—the reverse of the name of her beloved home, Calç Teuler.
Her first work was a painting featuring a door from her beloved home, and since then her brushes have never stopped flowing, giving rise in each work to a beautiful confluence of rivers—the dialogue between the viewer, the creator, and the artwork. An invitation to recognize and celebrate the complexity of human emotions and our connections to the natural and social environments.
Four disciplines and a fascinating journey of self-reflection to rediscover oneself.
Drawing What I Feel. Illustrations. Simplified compositions, spontaneous brushstrokes with a bold use of color. Each one represents a distinctive aspect that springs from the artist’s mind to convey the ideals of resilience, reinvention, and courage.
Reinventing the Self. Sculptures and paintings. Lost and abandoned objects are reborn under the artist’s watchful gaze. The mirror is her ally in her sculptures.
Cryptology. One way to tell a story is through a text organized into paragraphs with a clear structure. The artist uses the discipline of cryptology as a tool to preserve the history of messages. He processes them and makes them difficult or even impossible to read, thereby establishing their origins.
