Hello to all La Plaza listeners!
Today we have the pleasure of talking about a film project that touches on a topic of great social and emotional importance: “Memory Underwater.” This audiovisual work is the result of a short film workshop held at the Lo Callejón de Montgai cultural center and seeks to explore the lives of people who have been displaced due to the creation of reservoirs. We will encounter realities that are often hidden, portraying how water can become a symbol of loss and uprooting.
What can you tell us about the plot of the short film?
The story focuses on a woman who visits a reservoir daily, immersed in the search for her identity and lost memories. This protagonist symbolizes the internal struggles of many people who, like her, navigate between the past and the present. The plot is enriched by the interaction with his family and the community, exploring themes such as mourning, memory and the feeling of belonging.
What is the importance of this project in the current context?
“Memory underwater” is not just a short film; It is a vehicle for reflection on social issues that affect us all. At a time when stories of displacement and unemployment are more relevant than ever, our work aims to give voice to these silent stories. We believe that art, especially cinema, can play a fundamental role in making these realities visible and promoting dialogue.
How can we help make this project a reality?
Currently, we are in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign through Verkami. Every contribution, big or small, will help us move production forward and ensure this story is shared with the world. We invite you to visit Memory Underwater in Verkami for more information and to join this noble cause.
A final message to listeners?
We want to thank everyone around the world for the support they have given us so far and encourage them to continue with us on this journey. Memory is a powerful reminder of who we are and where we come from, and each of us has a role to play in preserving this heritage. Thank you for listening to us at La Plaza and for being part of this adventure!
