The QIAF International Art Festival in Qatar has been an event that not only highlights cultural diversity but also provides opportunities for dialogue and artistic collaboration.
On November 30, 2024, I had the privilege of being interviewed by Silvia García Domínguez, a journalist with the radio station “HOLA QATAR 92 fm. “
HOLA QATAR 92 FM is Qatar’s official Spanish-language radio station, launched by Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) on November 2, 2022, to serve the interests of the Spanish-speaking community in Qatar, which seeks to create opportunities by showcasing multiculturalism and sharing hospitality.
The fair was filled with exhibitions and interactive workshops, creating a gathering where creativity could flourish without limits alongside artists from around the world.
QIAF encourages artists to step outside their comfort zones, experiment with new approaches, and collaborate with their peers. I’m leaving with a backpack full of great friends.
The Role of Art in Modern Society
During our conversation, we addressed fundamental questions about the role of art today. Art goes beyond mere visual representation; it is a powerful medium for reflection and social change. In a world facing significant challenges, art can serve as a vehicle for empathy, understanding, and dialogue. The ability to express emotions and experiences through art is vital to our shared humanity.
My mission at Reluet is to spark curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. To help cultivate authenticity—the essence of who we are.
I’ll conclude by sharing my hope that initiatives such as the QIAF International Art Festival will continue to evolve and shape the global art scene. Education, accessibility, and acceptance are fundamental pillars that must continue to be promoted in the art world.
Feel, smile, and enjoy the moment
