The QIAF International Art Festival in Qatar is an event that not only highlights cultural diversity but also offers opportunities for dialogue and artistic collaboration.
On November 30, 2024, I had the privilege of being interviewed by Silvia García Domínguez, journalist of the radio “HOLA QATAR 92 fm.”
HOLA QATAR 92 FM It is the official Hispanic radio station of Qatar, launched by Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) on November 2, 2022, to cover the interests of the Spanish-speaking community in Qatar, which seeks to open opportunities by showcasing multiculturalism and sharing hospitality.
The fair was filled with exhibitions and interactive workshops giving rise to a confluence where creativity could flourish without limits with artists from around the world.
QIAF encourages artists to step out of their comfort zones, to experiment with new approaches, and to collaborate with their peers. I take away a backpack of great friends.
The Role of Art in Modern Society
During our conversation, we addressed fundamental issues about the role of art today. Art goes beyond simple visualization; it is a powerful means for reflection and social change. In a world facing significant challenges, art can be a vehicle for empathy, understanding, and dialogue. The possibility of articulating emotions and experiences through art is vital for our shared humanity.
