I’d like to share with you a very special encounter I had during the exhibition I held at the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida.
This moment served as a powerful reminder of human connection and the impact that art can have on our lives.
The Charm of Symbolism
While I was exhibiting my work at the hospital, Fernando Peña Medina became a frequent visitor. Something in the symbolism of my work resonated deeply with him, creating an emotional bond that neither he nor I could ignore. This connection reaffirmed the importance of art as a vehicle for healing and personal reflection.
One afternoon, as Fernando was going up to his room with his mother, he picked up a pencil and drew a picture of me. When I saw the portrait he had drawn, I was deeply moved. It wasn’t a drawing of the adult Núria; he had captured my inner child—a smiling, lively, and cheerful little girl.
That portrait became a mirror for me. In a moment of inspiration, I wrote in big letters: “I have so much to offer myself and the world. I’m going to enjoy the Núria inside me and never leave her alone again. We’re here to live life, not to get stuck in a lake of tears.”
Tears, I remembered, are a reflection of the abundance of life. With every emotion, my inner child and I decided to live each day to the fullest. We won’t let the days live our lives for us; we’ll take control of our experiences.
Thanks again, Fernando. Your smile—just like that of everyone else who has crossed my path—is what keeps me going as I continue to create and share Reluet.
We know that we are a system and a machine, but it is we—not our day-to-day lives—who DECIDE who will be the president of our government and how we will govern it.
I THINK SOMETHING WONDERFUL IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME TODAY
