The origin: Miralpeix, a submerged home
An international artist with a profound gaze and a resilient heart
THE STORY OF RELUET DIDN’T BEGIN IN A STUDIO—IT BEGAN UNDERWATER
Núria Companys Castro was born in 1981 in Miralpeix, a Catalan village that was submerged by a reservoir when she was 13 years old. Along with it, her ancestral home, Cal Teuler, her roots, her childhood games, and her first emotional world were all submerged.
That loss has been frozen in time…(23 years)
Until one day, a door retrieved from the depths of her memory brought her back.

Rebirth from memory
In 2009, after losing her grandfather, Núria transformed an old door into her first artwork.
It was a symbolic act: taking what had been destroyed and recreating it with love.
That’s how RELUETwas born—a name that is “Teuler” spelled backward—the lost family home.
Since then, Núria has worked with doors, windows, chairs, and objects with a soul, creating art that is not only meant to be viewed, but is felt and experienced.

A courageous transition
For 16 years, Núria worked in the finance and human resources department of a multinational company, but her body had had enough: exhaustion, illness, and finally, a third relapse during the San Juan festivities in 2022 following a night diving trip that pushed her to LIVE AUTHENTICALLY by understanding the “why” and “what for” of her life’s purpose when she titled her first book.
That year, for the first time, he signed his works—which until then had been signed by his father, Josep Maria—under his pseudonym.
The act was symbolic: acknowledging herself as an artist, a woman, and a resilient soul.
