DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this sculpture, the artist breathes new life into a ham holder that evokes her submerged home, using elements such as a white fork adorned with two water pipes, a piece of wood cut into a circular shape, and masonry wool representing the new shelter that offered them refuge.<\/p>\n

According to popular legend, dreaming of serving ham to your guests at a party symbolizes that you are a generous and abundant person, capable of attracting new friends without difficulty.<\/p>\n

This idea is reflected in the sculpture \u201cAbundance,\u201d where the ham holder acts as a central element, symbolizing the richness of a fertile valley and the generosity of its people in their agricultural work.<\/p>\n

In the artist’s home, as in many others, the slaughter of the pig was celebrated, a family feast that made use of practically every part of the animal.<\/p>\n

The ham holder reminds us that the first generosity must be extended to oneself.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the fork alludes to the focus: what do you really want?<\/p>\n

The artist wants the history of her village to endure through time.<\/p>\n

The mason’s wool symbolizes freedom and resistance to submission.<\/p>\n

It invites us to reflect on the authenticity of being ourselves and not to be carried away by the current of those who do not represent us.<\/p>\n

Finally, the circular wood symbolizes the door of time.<\/p>\n

Its color represents the present, while the translucent tone evokes the past.<\/p>\n

In a fast-paced and impatient world, the mirror becomes the artist’s perfect ally, reminding us of the importance of anchoring ourselves in the present and appreciating the uniqueness of every face we encounter.<\/p>\n
