Antonio Sanchez Castro, curator and director of 1819 Art Gallery,<\/strong> wanted to contribute his grain of sand to the audiovisual project of the short film \u201cMemoria bajo el agua\u201d in which N\u00faria Companys Castro participated as co-writer and main actress.<\/span><\/p>\nIn the magazine 1819 Art Magazine number 25 they published an article to look for patrons.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/span><\/p>\nPublication text:<\/span><\/p>\nLooking for Patrons for MEMORIA UNDER WATER A Call for Artistic and Social Action<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nThe short film \u201cMemoria Bajo el Agua\u201d is not only a work of fiction; it is a deep emotional journey that invites reflection on the uprooting and collective memory of those communities that have been submerged by the waters of the reservoirs, inviting us to listen to the voices forgotten in silence.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nThis film project was born from a Short Film Workshop at the Lo Carrer\u00f3 cultural centre in Montgai, where a group of creatives came together to give life to a narrative that touches the essence of what it means to belong to a place.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nA Deep and Resonant Narrative<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nThe story revolves around a woman who, trapped by the weight of her memories, visits the reservoir of her town every day, seeking a connection with her past. Her ritual of immersing herself in the water symbolises the attempt to recover what was lost, but also reflects the pain of uprooting and the internal struggle between the desire to forget and the need to remember. When her grandfather invites her to share a meal in memory of her mother, she faces a profound dilemma: participate in the life of the community or remain immersed in her solitude.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nThis short film addresses universal questions about identity, loss and resistance. It is a mirror that reflects the experiences of many families who, forced by outside decisions, were displaced, seeing how their homes became a symbol of oblivion.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nA project with social value We need your help!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nAt this crucial moment, to carry out this significant work, the team of \u201cMemoria Bajo el Agua\u201d N\u00faria Companys Castro, Miquel Badia i Vendrell, Ricard Guiu Peiro and Jordi Herbera Dolcet, led by director Alfonso Gazit\u00faa Gaete, calls on all lovers of cinema and stories that matter to actively support this project in an act of cultural resistance that works to give voice to the forgotten and raise awareness about issues of social and political importance. Art, especially cinema, has the power to open dialogues and foster empathy. There is a magic in stories that are not only seen, but felt in the heart; \u201cMemoria Bajo el Agua\u201d seeks to create that link.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nWe started a funding campaign on Verkami that ended successfully on January 30th, and now it is no longer possible through this platform, but we still need your support and we have opened the account: ES1700730100570846138669 to channel the contributions.
